Test dust standards VDI 3954
May 4, 2023
On April 27th and 28th, the VDI working group “Effects of particles on technical products” held another face-to-face meeting. After a long Corona break and some online meetings, the two-day meeting took place at KSL staubtechnik gmbh in Lauingen/Donau.
Work continued on the standard series VDI 3954. After Part 1 (Basics of test dusts) and Part 3 (Test dusts made of quartz) of the series had already been published, the working group concentrated primarily on the completion of Part 2. This guideline will define the minimum requirements for standardized test dusts and a test dust certificate will be available which should help accredited laboratories and auditors in the future to ensure the suitability of test dusts for every test.
